FY2020 Research on Technology for Practical Use of Ultlalight Deployable Large Membrane Strucrure

Prof. Okuizumi has been leading the research on "technology for practical use of ultlalight deployable large membrane strucrure" since FY2020. This research is supported by the grant for ISAS Strategic Research and Development. Prof. Miyazaki, Prof. Satoh and many domestic researchers participate in this research.

We make the scale models of four types of lightweight planer structure of the area 1m^2 as the first step of this research, and identified the issues on the practical use of those types of the structures.

We will study on nano solar sail mission ad an application of those structures, and research on the technologies necessary for the development of the flight model, e.g. the ground test methods and the analysis methods.
