Research on Large Membrane Antenna |

We are studying large deployable antennas using membrane surfaces and self-deploying trusses. It is difficult to reconcile the specific requirements of space structure engineering and antenna engineering, and it is necessary to evaluate, design, and develop the antenna in these combined domains. Therefore, we are developing a large structure by attaching and arraying high-gain antenna elements on the membrane surface and modularizing the support structure to achieve light weight, stowability, gain, and directivity that greatly exceed those of conventional deployable antennas. We aim to contribute to the markets of deep space exploration, wireless power transmission, and remote sensing by realizing such large and lightweight antennas. (D2 Orii)
